Year 10 Gold Medal Winners – Merit League Champions

Congratulations to the year 10 basketball boys on becoming Park Vale’s first ever winners of the Year 10 Boys Merit League. The boys contested two games on the day of the finals, starting with a dominant performance over Outwood Academy Portland in the first game seeing PVA winners with the score finishing 39-18, with strong individual performances from a number of our students.
Game 2 was the final game, which saw PVA match up against Djanogly, a repeat fixture from the initial qualifying rounds to reach the finals. Having overcome them previously in a fairly one-sided match up, the boys were high in confidence.
Djanogly started the game brightly and never really faded throughout the game, being a constant thorn in the side of the boys for much of the match. Their spirited performance caused PVA a number of problems to overcome at times during the game, but PVA individual quality shone through with some key baskets scored at crucial moments of the game to see off a spirited challenge, with PVA securing the gold medal with a score of 32-21.

Think Big Work with Business Students-Dec 2025

We were delighted to welcome Think Big at Park Vale Academy this week to deliver a truly fabulous set of workshops for our Year 10 Business students. The sessions were inspiring, engaging, and full of practical insight — exactly what our students needed as they begin thinking about their futures. It was fantastic to see our students so energised, motivated, and ready to aim high in terms of their futures. The workshops were really engaging and student gave marketing presentations about an idea for a community project.
Students also looked at careers and how their own strengths and interests matched jobs that were currently advertised.

Our spectacular Christmas dinner for staff and students will take place on Wednesday 17th December 2025.
Last Day of Term Friday 19th December 2025 at 12.25pm. Restarts Monday 5th January 2026

Last Day of Term
The school will close for the Christmas holiday at lunchtime (12.25 pm) on the final day: Friday 19th December. School re-opens Monday 5th January 2026.
We will have our traditional lunchtime finish on that day so students will therefore be dismissed at 12.25 pm. Any child eligible for free school meals will be able to pick up a grab-bag as they leave if you request this through the main school office by Monday 15th.
