Parent & Student Work Experience Form 2023
Employer Work Experience Form 2023
One of the exciting opportunities in Year 10 is work experience. Most students enjoy experiencing the world of work first hand. Furthermore, with the current economic environment, employers place a high value on relevant work experience and an opportunity to demonstrate good employability skill.
The Benefits of work Experience
Work experience helps students to:
- Understand the world of work
- Improve and appreciate their skills and talents
- Gain confidence
- Accept the importance of school work and achieving good qualifications
- Gain knowledge of particular jobs or careers

20 pupils aged 14 – 17 years, from Nottingham City Schools [including Park Vale Academy] took part in a unique week of work experience, Monday 8 – Friday 12 July 2019. Hosted by Nottingham Contemporary and delivered in partnership with Nottingham City Museums and Galleries, New Art Exchange and Backlit Gallery. They took part in experiences with artists, programmers, curators and technicians across venues and gained an insight into the variety of careers within the arts.

A Christmas Carol comes to PVA December 2022
15 Dec 2022
It’s a cold, bleak, biting Christmas Eve and old miser Scrooge is not full of the Christmas spirit. In fact he hates Christmas…(“humbug!” he calls it.) But on returning home he suddenly finds himself visited by four ghostly apparitions come to teach him a lesson; his old partner Jacob Marley and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet To Come.
“If I could work my will, every idiot who goes about with ‘Merry Christmas’ on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding and buried with a stake of holly through his heart….”
But as Christmas day dawns are these apparitions and their dire warnings enough to make Scrooge see the error of his ways?
Michael Whitmore’s faithful new adaptation is taken exclusively from the original text, capturing the spirit and style of this Dickens classic whilst reinforcing the key quotations from the book. The production at Park Vale Academy was to support Year 10 students with their GCSE study, and allow them to see an interpretation of the text being performed.
