7 Jan 2024
Co-curriculum refers to the activities and learning experiences that take place in school alongside the academic curriculum. Academic attainment is a key element of school life and it is complemented by a broad and enriching co-curriculum to provide a rounded education. Park Vale students should aim to participate in at least two clubs a week.

PVA Alumni – Former Students
7 Jan 2024
Well done to Lennon Wheeldon, who left PVA in June 2022 having achieved 10 GCSE qualifications. Seen playing for Derby County in their recent win over Reading. Reading fell to a 5-1 loss away to Derby in Premier League 2 on Monday 4th December 2023.

It’s always wonderful to see the distance you go after leaving us and to welcome you back for events, reunions and to share your stories. It is great for students at the school to be able to see what role models you are. You can make a positive impact by sharing your experiences. We’ve been developing our alumni network and if you haven’t already given us your current details, we’d love to hear from you.
Former students can transform a young person’s confidence, motivation and skills – if you attended Park Vale, inspire a future generation and sign up to our alumni network:
Your experiences since leaving could help to motivate and inspire our current students to feel more confident in making decisions about their future. We’d love you to join our alumni network and stay connected with the school.
You can choose how and when you help – perhaps you can act as a career and education role model, mock interview days, provide work experience, become a mentor in person or online, or help with donations, fundraising or even apply to become a governor.
We are particularly keen to hear from alumni who can help link our subject-related curriculum in the classroom to the world of work/employment. This could include visiting a class and running or supporting a lesson for example.
If you would like to keep in touch about these opportunities please contact: Miss Koppoe – Careers Advisor – a.koppoe@parkvaleacademy.org.uk for an informal discussion.
It doesn’t matter when you left us, whether you’re in further education or employment, whether you still live nearby or have moved further away, there are still ways you can help.
In order to sign up, just follow this link and fill in the online form – we promise it will only take a couple of minutes.

Review meetings are an opportunity for parents to come into the academy to meet with their child’s tutor to discuss their pastoral development and set agreed targets for the year ahead. Later in the year, there will also be a subject-based parents’ evening where parents will have the opportunity to speak to their child’s subject teachers about their progress in their subjects,
