PVA CURRICULUM PLUS: Co-Curricular Offer
See our Curriculum Plus activities in our latest booklet
Co-curriculum refers to the activities and learning experiences that take place in school alongside the academic curriculum. Academic attainment is a key element of school life and it is complemented by a broad and enriching co-curriculum to provide a rounded education.
Curriculum Plus is our broad and vibrant co-curricular programme, enriching the school experience for young people across all Redhill Trust academies.
We encourage all students to try activities that widen their experiences – through sports clubs, the performing arts, trips abroad, cultural experiences and character-building challenges.
These experiences help young people to develop self-confidence, build resilience and feel a sense of belonging. They also challenge them to learn new skills and find a passion to take with them throughout their life.

Park Vale Academy is rightly proud of the wide and varied enrichment programme on offer to its students. This is an important aspect of life in the Academy so that all students can enjoy a rounded school experience both inside and beyond the classroom.
Park Vale Academy offers a great sports provision, with football, rugby, netball, cricket, athletics, tennis and boxing just some of the many sports catered for. There is also a busy lunchtime timetable which means that all students who wish to enjoy competitive sport can do so.
The hugely successful and popular Dance Academy stages regular shows and leads workshops with primary school pupils during their annual “Tour”. The Dance Academy runs an annual workshop session at a Dance Studios in London. There is a School Choir and orchestra and a wide range of lunchtime and after-school activities such as badminton, art, music and football.
We are rightly proud of the academic achievements of Park Vale Academy students. We strongly believe in extending their learning outside the classroom to broaden their opportunities in a variety of environments. All our students can enjoy a varied educational experience, both inside and outside the classroom, whether it is our great sports provision, the popular Dance Academy, music tuition, choir, school trips or the many lunchtime and after-school activities that take place.
All students also enjoy the opportunity of a wide range of educational visits throughout the academic year; these include History and Geography field study visits, Belgium, a Spanish Exchange and trips to universities and art galleries. There are also further opportunities for visits abroad through the skiing trip to Italy, Camps International and Paris trip.
The Academy provides every possible opportunity to students to achieve academically and develop a lifelong interest in learning.
