Due to the extreme weather conditions forecast for Monday (18th July) and Tuesday (19th July) next week, please be aware of the following guidance in order to protect students from the heat:

“Due to the red hot weather warning issued  yesterday, we are happy to allow students the additional option of wearing PE kit on both Monday and Tuesday next week. Normal uniform expectations will resume from Wednesday, however, blazers will remain optional until the end of term.”

  • Blazers are not required for the remainder of term; Ties will not be required Monday 18th & Tuesday 19th July. All other uniform expectations will still apply.
  • Students will not be participating in any lengthy outdoor PE activities (please ask your child to bring sunscreen and head protection if they are timetabled to have PE).
  • Students should take advantage of the shaded areas on site as much as possible during break and lunchtime.
  • Please remind your child to bring a water bottle and to aim to drink more than usual to stay hydrated (drinking water is freely available in school).
  • The tennis courts will be closed to students on Monday and Tuesday; no ball games will be allowed.
  • Windows will be opened in the building when the site staff unlock and blinds closed where necessary.
  • All external doors on the ground floor will be kept open to allow air flow through the building (other than secure access doors).
  • Fans are available for use in classrooms where requested by staff.
  • If you have a particular concern about your child being affected by the heat, due to a health condition for example, please let us know.
