A Girls Active School Games Celebration Day, co-designed by the Girls Active Leaders, has been held at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton Sports Hub. Insight from the girls shaped the day, with activities designed to address some of the barriers to being active, such as body confidence, whilst also supporting the girls to build their resilience and have the confidence to try new things. The girls were able to choose from a range of non-traditional sports and activities such as skateboarding, street dance, hula hoop and boxing, as well as inflatables, a climbing wall and team building. There was also a bracelet making activity on offer during lunch. Music was a key part of the event and the girls had asked to choose the music played during the day – which resulted in some impromptu dancing out on the sports field.
